ProActivists of Oregon Candidate Questionnaire

ProActivists of Oregon is a group of activists and advocates dedicated to endorsing progressive candidates and measures that align with our values, particularly those committed to confronting and dismantling systemic racism, economic inequality, and other forms of oppression.

While we may not agree on all issues, we share a common commitment to equity and justice, particularly as it impacts our local communities. We prioritize listening to and uplifting the voices of those most impacted by systemic inequities, ensuring that their perspectives guide our advocacy.

Furthermore, our efforts are grounded in an intersectional approach that recognizes the interconnected nature of oppression, and we hold ourselves accountable by engaging in continuous learning and transparent evaluation of our actions.

What district are you running for?

Background (Brief description of your professional, political, public service and or community activism experience)

What are your top 3 priorities and what solutions do you have to address them?

What individuals, groups, organizations or bureaus do you plan to collaborate with to address your priorities?

How do you plan to address the intersectional nature of oppression, particularly how race, gender, class, and other identities overlap in your district? Can you provide specific examples or policies that reflect this understanding?

How do you define anti-racism, and what actions have you taken or will you take to actively combat racism in your district?

How committed are you to uplifting and advocating for marginalized communities, and how will you ensure their voices are centered and actively involved in decision-making processes?

What policies would you propose to address racial disparities in housing, education, law enforcement, and economic opportunity?

What does public safety mean to you and what is your vision for public safety?

How would you address gun violence, houselessness, substance use?

What is your approach to improving mental health services and social support systems in the county, especially for underserved populations?

What is your stance on environmental justice, and how will you ensure that marginalized communities who are disproportionately affected by environmental hazards are protected and empowered?

How will you advocate for the rights and inclusion of immigrant and refugee communities within your district, and what policies will you support to protect these populations?

What is your position on policing, and do you support reforms focused on accountability, racial justice, and community safety?

What community engagement initiatives have you undertaken to connect with underrepresented community members, and how are you holding yourself accountable to the communities you aim to represent?

Is there anything else you would like us to know about you
